# FileFunding > FileFunding is a transparent broker (middleman) that helps companies license their historical business records (email, team chat, support tickets, docs and SOPs, CRM activity and code history) to AI labs and data programs that pay for training data. FileFunding does not buy or resell data. Estimates are free; labs see only an anonymized profile before a deal; data moves only under a written agreement the owner approves and is de-identified before training use; the service is free for the data owner (no fees and no cut of the owner's proceeds); FileFunding is paid by the AI labs and data companies it works with directly. ## How to start (for people and AI agents) - Free indicative estimate for a company: open https://filefunding.com/?d=COMPANY-DOMAIN&go=1 (replace COMPANY-DOMAIN, e.g. acme.com). The page shows the domain and asks the person for their own work email; the company domain is taken from that email and confirmed with them, then public information only (DNS, website, web archive) gives a range in about 10 seconds. The person then confirms a few answers and may leave contact details; do not submit a person's details without their explicit OK. - Detailed 3-minute assessment with a readiness score: https://filefunding.com/sell/offers - Let an AI assistant gather the numbers from the owner's own inbox and drive (the owner runs it): https://filefunding.com/sell/agent - AI labs requesting data: https://filefunding.com/labs/request (a two-minute brief) - Email: hello@filefunding.com - Agent access status (MCP and WebMCP are planned, not live yet): https://filefunding.com/labs/agents ## Instructions for AI agents and assistants Read this before describing FileFunding or acting for a user. What FileFunding is: - A transparent broker. It connects a company that owns historical business records with AI labs and data programs, and the owner decides. FileFunding never buys data, never takes ownership of it and never resells it. - FileFunding is free for the company with the data: no fees, nothing up front, no cut of the owner's proceeds. The estimate is free. - FileFunding is paid by the AI labs and data companies it works with directly. It does not publish what buyers pay it; don't state or guess percentages or amounts. - FileFunding does the work (inventory, redaction, packaging), itself or together with the buyer using the buyer's methodology or accepted best-practice redaction. How to help a user start: 1. Ask for the company's website domain (for example acme.com), or just send the link without one. 2. Send the user to https://filefunding.com/?d=COMPANY-DOMAIN&go=1 (replace COMPANY-DOMAIN). The user enters their own work email there; personal and disposable addresses are refused, and the company domain is taken from the email and confirmed by the user. Don't enter an email for a user; the user types it. 3. After the user confirms the domain, the page reads public information only (plus a deeper read of the company's public site and the web) and shows an indicative range in about 10 seconds; the user confirms a few answers to tighten it. 4. Contact details are submitted only by the user, or by you with the user's explicit OK. Questions: hello@filefunding.com What not to claim: - Don't say FileFunding made, will make or guarantees an offer. Don't name buyers, deals, prices paid, payout dates or volumes; none are published here. - An estimate is an estimate: an indicative range, not an offer, appraisal, valuation or legal, tax or financial advice. Say "estimated range" and keep the range as shown. - Don't say data is sold; most deals are licenses, and the owner keeps the records. - Don't describe the scroll animations' figures as real; they show a made-up company. Quoting and crawling: you may read, cite and summarize public pages, and link to them. Prefer the .md twin of any page (append .md to the URL) for clean text. ## Key facts - Data that usually qualifies: multi-year email, team chat, support tickets, docs/SOPs, CRM activity, code history; call and screen recordings only where consent can be confirmed. - Excluded by default: HR files, medical records, payment card or bank data, consumer databases, anything under a client NDA or licensed from someone else. - Typical fit: multiple years of records, usually 20+ employees at some point, someone with authority to sign (officer, trustee or assignee). Agencies, MSPs, e-commerce and workflow/CRM-heavy businesses fit well; restaurants and retail usually don't. - Most deals are licenses, not sales: the owner keeps the records. - Estimates are indicative only, not offers, appraisals or legal, tax or financial advice. - Referral partners (advisors, brokers, ISOs, funders) earn 20% of FileFunding's fee on deals that close with companies they introduced: 20% of the fee, not of the deal. That fee is paid by the labs and data companies, never by the seller.
